This is what we do after you decide to let
us help you:
Step 1- Signup: We collect some brief information on the Signup
Page to help us get started with server and domain work. We
may call or email you within 24 hours about email and domain (web address)
questions. You will receive a login for Steps 2-3 and Training
on our menu
above and can return to openbible.us anytime to work on them.
Step 2- Structure: We then have you complete a more in-depth
questionnaire (Step 2 Form) when you have time. You may complete it
immediately after signing up or you may return to Step 2 later
after you have had some time to think about it or collect
information. It will ask you questions like which department
pages you want to start with, what are your service times, what
initial email account name(s) do you want to use, do you want music
on the intro page, etc. You will normally see your website about 24
hours after this step is submitted.
Step 3- Content: We give you a checklist with instructions (Step 3
Checklist above) to help us collect content. These items can
be done one at a time as you have time. Most of the
information can be emailed to us. Normally, we like to setup a
phone appointment with you during this process to answer questions, suggest
ideas, and get an idea of what your focus is. We will
periodically email you with an updated "Checklist To Do
List" to help you keep organized.
Step 4- Helping New People: We usually ask you for someone's name in your
congregation that can help us with the New to Town page.
Although we can complete most of the page, it is very helpful to
connect with someone local to make sure we make it the best page it
can be. We normally work on this feature after we have all the
other pages setup. This page can help you with church growth.
Step 5- Delegation: After reviewing our training for the calendar,
photo gallery, and sermons system, the person(s) responsible for the
weekly routine should call us with any questions. Many
pastors will wait until after the setup and other routines are
implemented before implementing the sermon system.
Step 6- Local Maintenance: Start using the "Work On Your End" routine list for
regular local maintenance of the website (usually less than an hour
per week combined and delegated so only a few minutes for any one
person).
Other Implementation
Steps
Step 7- Internal Promotion: You should check publications such as
business card, bulletin, letterhead to update your website
information. You should include a reference to your website
address for more information on your answering machine. You may even
want to add it to your sign outside. You may want to promote the photo gallery
submission feature to your congregation. You may want to
promote the calendar submission feature to your staff or leaders to
save your secretary phone calls and office visits.
Step 8- External Promotion: Although we do a lot to promote your site behind
the scenes for search engines, you can promote your site locally.
This is often a good job to delegate to a volunteer. You
should use Google's advanced search with your "town, st"
in the phrase box and "churches" in the with words box to
find any prominent local websites that list churches. Contact
them to ask to be added. You may
also want to contact your chamber of commerce and municipal websites
to ask to be added if they list churches. There are also many
free directories you can submit your site to. You may want to
spend a little to add your web address to your free telephone Yellow
Page listing.
